Cytec is the industry leader in new resin system development, including thermosets such as standard and toughened epoxies, bismaleimides (BMI), cyinate esters, phenolics, and reaction and condensation polyimides. Cytec also offers a wide variety of thermoplastic resin matix materials.

Cytec’s resin systems include products that can be cured at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 500ºF/260ºC under low pressure (vacuum bag pressure only) or in an autoclave.

Typical Applications

Fabric prepregs are typically used on complex parts because of their ability to conform to a contoured surface. Prepreg tapes allow maximization of the directional properties of the reinforcement. Automated slit tape processing typically uses multiple strands of slit tape which are individually controlled, cut and placed on highly contoured shapes. This process allows maximum reinforcement efficiency with minimum part weight.
