Cytec To Launch New Products at China Coat 2008,the 13th.
International Exhibition for Coatings, Printing Inks and
Adhesives
West Paterson, NJ, October 23, 2008 - Cytec Industries Inc.
(NYSE:CYT) announced that they will participate at China Coat
2008, to be held at Guangzhou International Convention and
Exhibition Centre, China from 26 - 28 November 2008. Cytec will
be located at booth no. 9H17-24 Hall 9.2. During China Coat,
Cytec's Surface Specialties business unit that serves the
Coatings and Inks market will present their latest developments
in Liquid Coating Resins and Additives, RADCURE™ UV/EB
(Ultra-violet/Electron beam) Curable Resins and Additives and
Powder Coating Resins and Additives.
Liquid Coating Resins and Additives (LCR)
Cytec offers a broad portfolio of liquid coating resins and
additives to their customers worldwide and supports them with
reliable technical service, innovative applications research and
environment friendly technologies.
LCR will feature the latest waterborne and high solid resins for
Protective Coatings:
BECKOPOX™ EP 386w/52WA waterborne solid epoxy dispersion is a
new generation of resins for anti-corrosion 2K epoxy/amine
primer. In combination with hardener, BECKOPOX™ VEH 2188w/55WA
resin, it gives outstanding corrosion resistance and has
demonstrated protection even without inhibiting pigments. It
also gives good adhesion on plastic substrates.
New BECKOPOX™ EH 2189w/50WA waterborne amine hardener is for 2
pack epoxy/amine anticorrosive primers and single coats. It is
remarkably fast drying and facilitates faster re-coating,
shortening the entire coating process to give higher
productivity.
RESYDROL™ AY 6150w/45WA waterborne acrylic modified alkyd
emulsion is based on a new core shell technology for air drying
1K top coat as well as monolayer which makes it a multi-purpose
product. It provides equal performance to any solventborne
alkyd. In addition, as a monolayer, it also functions as a good
anti-corrosion agent.
Another new core shell technology launch is RESYDROL™ AY
6173w/45WA waterborne acrylic modified alkyd emulsion for air
drying 1 pack primer for protection of metal and wood
substrates. Key features include quick drying, early water
resistance and corrosion protection. It performs as well as
solventborne alkyd resins and is significantly superior to
acrylic emulsion systems.
New MACRYNAL™ SM 2703/80BACX solventborne 2K acrylic polyol
resin gives high gloss economical protective top coat. Its 80%
solid and 2.2% hydroxyl content in combination with
polysiocyanate hardener makes it suitable as a low volatile
organic compound (VOC) and cost effective industrial top coat.
MACRYNAL™ SM 2708/75BAC solventborne 2K acrylic polyol resin
(75% solid and 2.7% hydroxyl content) is a protective top coat.
It is suitable for airless spray thick layer. In combination
with polyisocyanate, it gives outstanding mechanical properties
and outdoor stability
New ADDITOL™ XL 6522 high molecular weight solventborne additive
is a pigment dispersing agent designed to improve wetting of
carbon black and difficult wettable organic pigments in
solventborne formulations. It allows extra high pigment loading
in the mill base without an increase in dispersing time,
therefore increases productivity.
RADCURE UV/EB Curable Resins and Additives
Cytec is a complete solutions provider for energy curable
coatings and inks worldwide in markets such as industrial
coatings, wood and paper, plastic, opto-electronics, graphic
arts and packaging.
Cytec will feature a range of new products comprising a UV
curable polyurethane dispersion and high functional oligomers.
These products have extremely low VOC, which gives them an edge
in meeting environmental regulations.
New KRM 8452 decafunctional aliphatic urethane acrylate resin is
for extremely hard top coats. Its high reactivity and hardness
enables coatings with high scratch and abrasion resistance.
New EBECRYL™ 8254 hexafunctional aliphatic urethane acrylate
resin is for high solid top coats. Its low viscosity and low
shrinkage combined with high reactivity and flexibility allows
formulators to develop coatings with high solids and good impact
resistance.
New UCECOAT™ 7699 high performance aliphatic urethane acrylate
dispersion in water (UVPUD) is for pigmented top coats. It
provides outstanding stain, chemical and scratch resistance,
excellent reactivity and ease of formulation. Its tack-free
behaviour before UV cure enables easy handling and low dust pick
up.
New EBECRYL™ 837 hexafunctional aliphatic polyester acrylate
resin is for high solid top coats. Its low viscosity combined
with high reactivity and high hardness enables coatings with
high cross link density to provide good scratch resistance and
is ideal as mobile phone coating.
Powder Coating Resins
Cytec is a global supplier of top quality powder coating resins
and additives.
The latest CRYLCOAT NEW GENERATION™ resins, the Primavera range
highlights its first hybrid, CRYLCOAT™ E04048 resin which
provides excellent flow, aesthetic appearance, good
mechanical properties and over-baking performance. This product
is a cost-effective solution for indoor application.
New CRYLCOAT™ 38051 resin is a VOC free alternative for high
quality MDF surface finish that promises superior chemical,
scratch, humidity and abrasion resistance. It enables
formulation for full color range used in the furniture market
and offers limitless possibilities in terms of design freedom.

• China Coat Conference

Laboratory Leader, LCR Business Unit. This conference will focus
on Wood Coatings and will be held at the Ramada Plaza Guangzhou
Hotel.
